At nebenan.de, I designed and implemented the 2023 and 2024 editions of the annual Social Impact Report. With over 4 million users across Germany, nebenan.de conducts yearly surveys to assess how neighborhood engagement influences loneliness and overall quality of life.
A key challenge of the project was presenting a large volume of information and data within a single page while maintaining user engagement. To address this, I introduced a secondary site navigation, integrated progress bars, and added subtle animations to create a more dynamic and accessible user experience.
The progress bar gives readers a sense of how much they have left, making the page feel easier to navigate.
Light scroll animations add a bit of breathing room between all the data and long paragraphs.
Extra navigation makes it simple to jump to the parts that matter most to each reader.
The mobile navigation required a distinct approach from the desktop version. Together with the team, I developed a solution that merged the progress indicator and navigation into a single, unified element, ensuring the mobile experience remained as clear and accessible as on desktop.
